    Obsahovou náplňou prednášky (moduly A, B), je uvedenie študentov FEI do problematiky kontinuálneho zlepšovania metódou PDCA. Aplikácia tzv. "pyramídy PDCA" do praxe organizácie je totiž tou najúčinnejšou prevenciou problémov a rizík - a to aj rizík, spojených so zlyhaním SW či HW. Ľudské zdroje sú v každej organizácii kritickým faktorom jej stability a úspechu. Preto alfou a omegou prosperity jednotlivca je proaktívny prístup k zväčšovaniu svojho vlastného potenciálu. Ten sa dá nielenže vyjadriť vektormi VIEM, CHCEM, MÔŽEM, ale následne aj kvantifikovať. Tak ako skvelé individuality nie sú automaticky zárukou víťazstva tímu, tak tomu je aj s prosperitou organizácie. Preto povinnosťou všetkých individualít - zainteresovaných na jej rozvoji, je aktívne prispievať k rastu kvality celého tímu- študentského/pracovného/športového.Kvalita tímu je vyjadrená koeficientom kvality ĽZ (HRR - Human Resources Ratio), ktorého výpočet je prekvapujúco jednoduchý. Aj osvojenie si a používanie prezentovaných postupov môže výrazne prispieť k formovaniu osobnosti absolventa FEI TUKE.

    Vývoj nových technológií nám poskytol ohromujúce množstvo experimentálnych informácií o biologických objektoch ako aj o ich vzájomných pôsobeniach. Okrem prirodzenej potreby štandardizácie databázové uchovania takto získaných informácií vznikla taktiež potreba konceptualizácia postupov, analýz a spracovania dát za účelom porozumenia, modelovania a riešenia komplexných biologických problémov. Silnou črtou informatických postupov je prediktívna schopnosť, ktorá umožňuje kritickú validáciu a prehodnotenie zvolených postupov. V tejto prednáške budú uvedené príklady využitia bioinformatiky v praxi ako aj v základnom výskume.

    It is quite easy to create new software component. But how easy is it to maintain it? Many software projects are done when a software is delivered. But that is the first day in the life of a software, not that last one. Can you keep your software running for a year? For five years? What about a decade? In this talk we will discuss the experiences of creating software that can live long and prosper. We will describe the importance (and limitations) of a good software design, proper development methods and support procedures. The talk is based on a long career of pragmatic software architect and especially experiences from maintaining midPoint open source project.
